Update from Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board: Burntwood Health Centre

The Burntwood Health Centre project has reached an important milestone this week, with the submission of the planning application by Staffordshire County Council, on behalf of the NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board.

The Burntwood project seeks to deliver a new Health Centre for the residents of Burntwood on land off Milestone Way, Burntwood. Local health care services are currently provided from Salters Meadow Health Centre, a temporary facility on the Burntwood Leisure Centre site and the Darwin branch practice in Chasetown. These will be replaced with the new facility as a priority to improve local healthcare services. The site will also house NHS community-based health services, which will allow teams to work more closely together and provide more joined-up, accessible care for local residents.

The collaborative effort between Staffordshire County Council, NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board and Entrust has ensured that the planning submission has been made in line with the target timeline that was shared with the public earlier this year.

Lichfield District Council, as the Planning Authority, will now consider the submission and determine the outcome. Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment. Should planning permission be granted, the next stage will be to obtain competitive prices from building contractors for the construction of the Health Centre.
